Uga for undergrad, Virginia tech for medical school. University of Oklahoma for residency. Comparing the 3 is laughable. Athens is truly the greatest city/ undergraduate degree.

Fantastic Experience, Ahead of Peers Upon Graduation

I came to UGA as an out-of-state student after falling in love with the positive energy on campus. It was home to the happiest, most involved students I had ever come across in all of my campus tours, so I knew it was the place for me. During my time on campus, my classes were small, the discussions were always erudite, and my peers pushed me to be better not only in the classroom but also in my involvement in leadership roles that benefitted the community. My professors were challenging and experts in their field (I graduated from SPIA with a degree in International Affairs) and took the time to push me in the right direction for my career. The student body was intelligent, but also social, open, and active. I appreciated the balance of the "work hard, study hard, play hard" attitude throughout the student population. Athens is truly one of (if not the) best college towns in the country. The food, bars, and music scene cannot be beat. After graduation, the camaraderie enjoyed by graduates is palpable - even all across the country on the West Coast.

Great university, especially its honor program

Among the year 2019 graduates, 10 out of 14 Biology Major students in the program of Foundation fellow and Ramsey scholars have been accepted by top medical school such as Harvard, Penn, Columbia, UCSF. If you are lucky being selected as a foundation fellow, definitely go to UGA. It covers all tuition and living cost. In addition, it has the best international travel program that allows students to explore internationally. Go Dawgs

One of the only universities to be ranked in the top 15 in both athletics and academics, the University of Georgia provides ample ability to succeed in any pathway you choose while giving you one of the greatest college towns in the US. With a wide range of activities, a very lively downtown life, and great outdoor areas right by campus, this school has something for everyone while having some good ole fashioned fun.

The university continually strives to maintain the highest standards while improving where it finds the need. The university has a purposeful framework to not just meet and surpass the academic needs of the students, but create, through experience at the university, an ability in the students to be constructive, productive, perceptive, insightful, and thoughtful members of society.

Great large university with it ALL

UGA, while still under the radar for some, is one of the most complete (and best) universities in the US. Outstanding academics (perennial top producer of Fulbright scholars and other similar merit-based graduate level scholars), incredible sports teams, great greek system, a multitude of UGA sponsored travel abroad opportunities and all of this in one of the best, if not THE best college town in the USA. It truly has it all. My daughter just graduated from UGA as a double major (International Relations (SPIA #4 IR school in the country) & Journalism (Grady #2 School of Journalism in the country)). Her professors were very involved and were instrumental in helping her land a great job immediately after graduation. Wish I was college age again--would be calling the Dawgs on Saturdays and blowing off stream in downtown Athens!!
