Curricula Descriptions

Full-time program

The Terry MBA emphasizes career advancement, leadership development and teamwork. The curriculum provides solid business foundations, specialized skills and applied learning opportunities, both inside and outside the classroom. Under the guidance of faculty practitioners, students tackle real-time company challenges in the two required capstone project experiences, and their solutions and overall performances frequently lead to internship and full-time employment opportunities. Offering a full menu of concentrations, the Terry MBA Program is the first to introduce a focus in Social Innovation, which includes opportunities to consult with companies aspiring to B Corp certification, to support local Athens non-profits and to develop innovative, socially conscious and sustainable enterprises. Other concentrations include finance, human resource management, marketing, operations, entrepreneurship, healthcare management, real estate, risk management and business analytics, any of which can be combined with a focus in strategy or fintech.

Executive program

Program emphasizes leadership development and strategic thinking that is essential to addressing real-world business challenges, and includes career navigation workshops, extensive assessment, coaching and action planning designed to maximize leadership potential. Courses address functional business foundations, challenging students to work in teams, act strategically and to recognize the role of globalization, innovation, technology, systems and people in creating competitive advantage.

Part-time program

In the Professional MBA students hone essential business acumen and gain an understanding of how decisions impact the entire organization. The general management curriculum emphasizes the functional foundations of business in the first year. Second-year students focus on strategy and elective courses that build on functional areas and develop skills to manage effectively in a global environment. Students may select optional concentrations in Finance/Accounting, Innovation/Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Marketing, Operations/Supply Chain Management or Real Estate. An overarching theme of professional development is incorporated throughout the curriculum and co-curricular activities.

The School of Law at University of Georgia has an application deadline of June 1. The full-time program application fee at the School of Law at University of Georgia is $50. Its tuition is full-time: $19,894 (in-state) and full-time: $38,652 (out-of-state). The student-faculty ratio is 7.7:1.

The University of Georgia School of Law is a public law school in Athens. Law students who wish to broaden their education can do so in three ways: through elective courses, joint degrees, and concurrent enrollment in other departments at the University of Georgia. Joint degree programs include a J.D./MBA through the Terry College of Business and a J.D./M.Ed. in Sports Studies for future sports lawyers offered through the College of Education. Concurrent enrollment options, which allow students to earn another degree in their second and third years of law school, are offered through the University of Georgia’s other 17 schools and colleges.

Global opportunities are also a focus of the law school, including study abroad programs, work abroad programs and global initiatives. Students can spend a school break abroad through the Georgia Law-Leuven Global Governance Summer School in Belgium or through a global externship or public interest fellowship. The University of Georgia School of Law is also home to the Dean Rusk International Law Center, a hub for international law research, externship placements and global outreach projects.

The school offers nearly 20 experiential learning opportunities. There are also nearly 40 student organizations to join, including the Georgia Law Mental Health Alliance, which aims to destigmatize mental illness and discuss issues facing the law school community, and the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund, which advocates for improvements to federal and state animal laws. The school also has several legal journals: the Georgia Law Review, the Georgia Journal of International & Comparative Law, and the Journal of Intellectual Property Law. On-campus housing is available, but most law students opt for private housing.

Graduates to date include over 10 governors, more than 110 state and federal legislators, and approximately 70 federal judges and state Supreme Court justices. Notable alumni of Georgia Law include Sally Quillian Yates, former U.S. acting attorney general, and Kenneth Gross, Jr., U.S. ambassador to Tajikistan.
