UNM- The University to Help You Study Across the World!
By Kali A., From Albuquerque, New Mexico
As a current student at UNM, I can confidently say that I am happy with my decision to attend. I came to UNM with no idea of what I wanted to do and no idea what I wanted to major in. There was only one thing I knew for certain and that was I wanted to study abroad for at least one semester. UNM hosts a study abroad fair every year where they introduce students to multiple programs for study abroad, as well as their own. It was here and through a little research of my own that I found Athena Study Abroad. I was able to study for a semester in Ireland, where I had the absolute time of my life. And when I came back, UNM advisors worked with me to figure out what major fit best for me, and would get me to graduation on time. I also worked with the Career Services Office on UNM's campus, and they gave me amazing tools for success after graduation. Overall, I've had a great experience at UNM!

UNM is Welcoming!
By Priscilla M, From Albuquerque, NM
Attending The University of New Mexico has been such a rewarding experience for me this far. I just started my second year at UNM and I couldn't be more excited. Personally, I believe UNM is one of the most welcoming universities because not only is the campus unbelievable but I've also met some of the most amazing people here. My first year I was able to get involved in a student organization called Community Experience. I meet new people while volunteering with various community organizations. This year I'm living on campus and I plan to join Community Association in my dorm hall. This is where a group of people come together to plan different programs in an effort to create activities for the residents in the dorms. There are multiple opportunities to get involved and meet new people, all while striving towards your goal and having fun.

Support Staff = Success
By Mike G, From -Albuquerque
I have loved my time here at UNM. I started as a Civil Engineer major, after a few semesters of hardcore Calc classes, I found myself in a dilemma. I enjoyed what I was studying (degree-specific), but the math classes were not helping my gpa to say the least. With the help of my adviser and the School of Engineering support staff, I was able to change my degree and still study what I was interested in. I am now a Construction Management major, and instead of high-level math courses I take accounting and financial courses. The change has helped me succeed as a student and has put me on track to graduate. I also had ease finding a student employment job (non-work study). UNM is great no matter what the degree/career path you might be interested in.

Awesome University
By Cassie P. Class of 2019, From Albuquerque NM
UNM has been a wonderful experience while studying for my undergrad! The classes and programs vary widely and every professor I've had is very well versed in their subjects. The student body is incredibly diverse, providing perspectives from all around the world in class and around campus. There is a plethora of student organizations and there's always something going on around campus, people are out and about. The closed campus creates a great atmosphere for students to study and mingle, not to mention how beautiful the campus itself is! I've made so many connections socially and academically just in the last couple of years. I was able to find my academic focus at UNM and I've truly grown as a student, but also as a person. I'm incredibly grateful for the experience and the opportunities this university has given me. Go Lobos!

Best Fine Art program
By Kat M., From Albuquerque, New Mexico
The University of New Mexico is a great place to test the waters of different majors. During my time there I had changed my major multiple times but it had no effect on how the administrators helped me with finding classes and thinking about the future. The staff at the university were always trying to help their students succeed and grow in their field of study. The professors in the Fine Art Department are some of the kindest and understanding people in the university. They are the reason I work so hard in every art piece that I make and I hope more students have the chance to experience the joy of being proud of your work.
