A Truly Awesome School!

UC Davis is the best! I love the vibe of the campus. The education here is top class. The professors are awesome. There are numerous research, internship and job opportunities. There is a lot of diversity and the people are really nice. Also, the food is pretty good!

Best decision ever

Initially I didn't want to go to Davis as my brother attended and my dad graduated a number of years ago. Financial aid made me consider it as an option, but the university simply stole my heart. Nestled between a small suburban town and agricultural fields, UC Davis' campus abounds with tree-lined avenues, grass fields, and beautiful mature trees. The neighboring arboretum provides a quick dip into nature with ducks, turkeys, and the more elusive otters, minks, foxes, skunks, and wood rats. If birds are your thing Davis has some sweet locations for birding. The town of Davis is super safe with female students riding bikes home in the late hours with no worries. The park system is extremely conducive to recreational activities with a sprawling network of bike trails and the web of parks known as the green belt. UC Davis has clubs for everyone. Whether you find your high dancing the night away with the Davis Swing Dancers, or hiking with the Wildlife Society, or through LAN parties with the League club, there is a place for you. High school athletes will enjoy a thriving intramural sport culture as well as competitive club sports. At Davis you can feel the cold winter air rush past your ears and through your hair as you ride your bike across town, lie under the open sky in a field of green blades tickling the soles of your feet, grab a quick bite to eat at the CoHo before a thrilling round of bowling in the Memorial Union, stroll through the student farm and eat fresh pomegranates growing on the side of the road, hit the books in the warmth of Shield's Library surrounded by minds hard at work, pet a cow and say hello to the llamas, meet your lifelong friends, and have the experience of a lifetime. I don't regret choosing Davis one bit. I've made friends, shed tears late at night, rejoiced over passed exams, eaten more dining commons cookies than should be ingested by one individual, enlarged my perspective on the world, and learned to grow into who I am. Go Ags!
