A High Quality Education

UNCW Is one of the most underrated universities in NC. It is on par academically with UNC and you will not find professors more willing to help their students. This university focuses heavily on undergraduate research experiences which is essential for employment or further education. I would choose UNCW every time.

An excellent overall educational experience

I could not be happier with the education I received from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. As a United States Army veteran, the university admissions office was most helpful in the admissions process and with providing assistance and guidance in getting started. The professors were all top notch, caring deeply about the education they were providing and passionate about their field. The campus is beautifully laid out, easy to navigate, and you feel safe given the atmosphere and friendly/helpful campus law enforcement. The location (within minutes of Wrightsville Beach, a National Geographic Top 25 Beach Towns in the World) is ideal to say the least for those that fancy the coast and all the recreational activities that abound in such an environment. Whereas there is solid support for athletics, the university maintains primary focus on the fact that their first obligation is to academics. I am a proud alum who met his wife in the course of our studies and am proud that our daughter has followed in our footsteps by enrolling here for her undergraduate work. "Wings Up" as we say!
