Great love

This school, town and campus has taken in our out of state daughter as one of their own. Absolutely a great university and the way they treat the students is awesome. We will be forever grateful because she loves it even though she is far from home.

Great atmosphere around campus but an emphasis is definitely placed on athletics. Certain degrees and programs are very prestigious, but all around the education you receive is very average.

One of the mostly underrated colleges

LSU is a land-grant, sea-grant, and space-grant university. Its research and academic programs in astrophysics, chemistry, petrochemical engineering, coastal geology, marine/coastal science, wetland science, landscape architecture, natural resources, and political science are nationally and internationally respected. LSU outperforms many schools ranked higher and it's a shame to rank such a great public university at #140.
