Duquesne University User Reviews and Ratings
Excellent But Expensive
By Yinzer, From Iowa
Be sure to get plenty of tuition help or do not go. Professors are top notch and class sizes are small. In heart of Pittsburgh, there are plenty of options for social life. I never lived on campus, but I imagine on campus life to be a bit restrictive compared to other schools. Gumberg Library staff were very helpful. However, for a major university, Duquesne should have a library with greater holdings. I had to get items from loan or other local libraries. The university has a solid reputation amongst academics and regional clout, but the mainstream might not know about Duquesne nationally (maybe because we do not have high level football). DU basketball has new look arena coming, and it is named for the first black player drafted into the NBA.

Right at Home

I was looking for a balanced environment where faith, values, education and social life all came together. I transferred to Duquesne from a top ranked engineering school where I miserable. At Duquesne, I've found engaged faculty, an advisor that knows me as an individual, challenging academics and great Greek and social life. I made new friends very quickly. The food is...college fare. The dorm is above average. The facilities, like the weight room, are excellent. I love it here...and I'm a Floridian!
