Glorified Daycare

Marquette is a nightmare for resident life. While academics are fine the lack of freedoms in campus housing is astounding. RA's patrol the dorms like power hungry rent-a-cops and are all too eager to write up residents for things as simple as quiet hours despite never posing an issue to their fellow residents. The check in and out requirements are labor intensive and unnecessary. Overall living in the dorms is being treated like a child

Fantastic Academics Rooted in Jesuit Tradition

The Marquette University undergraduate faculty and curriculum prepare students extremely well for graduate schools and their respective professions. The school fervently supports the Jesuit values of scholarship, service, and leadership in both academics and extracurriculars. The location is great for those who enjoy city life, as the campus is right near the heart of downtown Milwaukee and Lake Michigan. Although not as geographically isolated as the traditional university, Marquette still offers plenty of green space, Greek life, Division I sports teams, and the college campus "feel".

For anyone looking for a more urban setting, but not living in a crazy big city, this is perfect! Just enough people where there is always someone new to meet, but you will see familiar faces around campus. Plenty of ways to get involved and have meaningful leadership positions before graduation. Safety may be highlighted because it is in a city, but I never felt unsafe.

Marquette is the perfect school for someone who is looking for a small enough school to feel like you matter while being at a big enough school where there are plenty of academic and extracurricular activities to satisfy any and all of your college desires. It's location in near downtown Milwaukee provides many opportunities to expand your professional network as well as a great nightlife! Marquette also sticks to its Catholic roots - something I find particularly comforting about Marquette. If you are at all thinking about attending Marquette, I highly recommend you visit the school and take a look for yourself. You will love it here - I promise.

Huge part of my life

During the 4 years I spent at MU I had some of the most amazing experiences of my life. I met life long friends and got a great education. MU also provided me with the experience to study in the UK and in the Czech Republic and fostered a love of travel that still inspires me today.
