best decision ever!

Spelman College changed my life in immeasurable ways. I received an excellent education which prepared me for medical school and subsequently, a successful and fulfilling career as a General and Pediatric Ophthalmologist. Academic excellence, confidence, social awareness/activism, life long friends, support and the SISTERHOOD are some of the words that describe my SC experience. I will forever be a proud Spelman alum.

Best Undergrad Experience

Spelman College is a small school with "large school resources." Class sizes are typically less than 25 students and the total student body was less than 2,000 when I attended, but we shared an expansive library, shuttle service, and other resources with five other schools (making up the Atlanta University Center) so we never felt like we missed out on opportunities larger schools offered. The professors are the BEST and the social scene was never-ending (partly because we were in Atlanta but also because of the proximity of the other schools in the AUC - Morehouse, Clark Atlanta University, Morris Brown, etc). In addition, the alumnae network is impressive.
