Hi Dallis, there are six sororities on campus including Alpha Kappa Alpha; Delta Sigma Theta; Gamma Sigma Sigma; Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Sorority; Zeta Phi Beta; and Sigma Gamma Rho.

Hi Hilda, Spelman does not offer a fully online degree program.

No, not enough for a full degree. I believe just this year or so, they have made a progressive move to offer some classes online. Spelman is such an awesome school but as a non-traditional Spelman student myself (30) it is not designed to fully cater to and/or support the non-traditional student.

Hi Bri, although founded in 1881 as the Atlanta Baptist Female Seminary, Spelman College does not have a religious affiliation.

The school was originally a Baptist Seminary School, so the roots of the school are in Christianity, (The school crest states "Our whole school for Christ"). However, The school is VERY inclusive regarding religion, spirituality, etc. They have national hijab day, yoga in the museum, etc. There is a Chapel on the campus but almost anyone can use it. Many of the sorority shows and commencements take place there.

Do you guys have a medical branch, for those who have to complete 4 years of medical school ? If not, do most transfer?

Hi AJ, Spelman does not have a medical school but does have a Health Careers program to advance qualified young women into the professional/allied health professional schools of medicine, dentistry, osteopathy, optometry, podiatry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine and graduate health programs.
