UT Austin is a leading university - worldwide. It is constantly ranked in the prestigious University-Rankings of Times Higher Education, Shanghai Ranking or QS (always in the Top 50 Universities of the World and between rank 20-40 in the USA). It Has Everything

As a graduate of three different colleges within the university, I can attest that the education is excellent, and the university has something to offer everyone. I came out of school (undergrad and grad) with multiple job offers, had a great study abroad experience, and was very involved in a myriad of organizations. It is one of the best values out there!

Graduates dont get jobs from here. Internship assistance for students? Not even decent. It is a mistake to study here. You will be lost in the crowd. Professors wont help you learn. They only care about their theories. Education is not geared towards practical application.

No other top business school provides such a top ranked student-life, location in the heart of one of the fastest growing cities, top-ranked sports in every category and more. Mccombs is one of the best -and for good reason! At UT, it truly feels as though I am getting more than just a degree.

The Best Chemical Engineering Program

A rigorous university, very underrated on US news rankings!

The university is very large, however, faculty and staff put great effort into making sure incoming freshman have a suitable transition from high school to university. Specifically through programs such as reading round up - getting to meet and review literature with faculty and peers. Also due to a recent alumni donation the university offers free - unlimited - tutoring. Which is very useful in upper division courses or stem classes. The university also has fig programs or similar programs in other colleges besides natural science, essentially you get grouped into a smaller community and paired with an upper classman mentor. A lot of opportunities to take part in research as a freshman (even if you're not in the freshman research initiative). Amazing faculty, nobel prize laureates! The tech startup scene in Austin is huge and will definitely be much more influential in the coming future - comparable to palo alto. Alumni community is very active on campus, especially during football games (beat USC). Alumni also come back to shed advice and to take part in the community. VERY large and prominent alumni network. Target school for business, and definitely a target school for silicon valley. A friend of mine recently landed a really good job at Google. Now UT Austin is not Harvard, but I would definitely compare it to UC Berkeley. I don't understand why it's so underrated though.

Amazing professors, amazing city, and excellent education

UT is such an amazing school to learn under prestigious, brilliant professors. I took almost solely science and literature classes and was thrilled to go to class everyday. 6 years later- my friends and I still bring up our favorite classes and the many tools we used to learn more. The amount of libraries on campus is so helpful as there is always a quiet place to study with free wifi. Austin is a great city- safe & so much to do. Whether it's floating the river, hiking, seeing live music, or just heading to Barton Springs for a dip- there is always something to do with the friends you make. The great thing about UT is most people are some of the only people from their school who went to UT so everyone is looking for friends. I have such fond memories, fond friends, and a sound education from UT. I would say their is a culture shock of how liberal the city and school are compared to the rest of TX but that is part of what makes "Austin weird".
