Best Mountain School In NC

I received both my bachelors and masters degrees from WCU and I'm forever thankful for the experiences this university and the people provided me. Western was not my first choice when it came to college but it was the right choice for me to become a leader in the community and be the most prepared for my career. The many different organizations allowed me to gain experiences I never would have attained anywhere else. The professors knew my name and I had them for several different courses which allowed me to get to know what they expected of me and build relationships I still have today. There is no other school that has this many opportunities in one place in the state of North Carolina. Thankful to have had the best education the state could offer and it the most beautiful place of all, Cullowhee.

One Of The Best Public Universities In The State

I attended WCU in the '70's out of necessity in that I couldn't afford to go anywhere else. That turned out to be a blessing. What I discovered was small classes, caring professors and an administration that truly cared about its students. The education I received was top drawer. After graduating I was accepted at a prestigious private university law school. My classmates came from Ivy League and other big name schools, but I quickly discovered the education I had received at WCU was on par with theirs and I was well prepared for graduate studies. If somebody offered me a time machine to go back in time and gave me a full scholarship to Harvard I would still choose WCU.

Worst school in wnc

Doesn't care about non traditional students. Doesn't care about commuters. Snowing? Too bad? Ice? "The sidewalks Are clear in Cullowhee" I hate Wcu and I will foever rue the day I decided to give them my money.

Always Underrated by US News

If you are looking for a place surrounded by great students and adults, a place for you to continue to grow in all aspects of your life and to prepare for your career this is THE school. I can not be more happy with my decision-making to attend WCU. Upon graduating I started working at a well-known excellent company - high salary, great benefits. My salary keeps going up in my career of 15+ yrs. A lot of people in my field from other schools have master degrees and/or making less then me. I have no need for a masters with my WCU degree. Best part is I graduated with no money owed. While in school I saved with WCU's book rental program. Post graduation everyone is family, I love being able to connect with my professors, classmates, and new professors after I left. Thank you WCU and my STEM professors for everything. US News, WCU should be ranked in the top 3 for south universities. You have missed the mark every year.
