The Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado—Boulder was founded in 1906, making it one of the oldest business schools in the country. In Boulder, Leeds students can take a break from academics by exploring the nearby Rocky Mountains and more than 80 miles of biking and walking trails. About 45 minutes from campus, there’s the Rocky Mountain National Park, and there are also about a dozen ski slopes within three hours of Boulder. Leeds School of Business students can connect with the university community by cheering on the Division I Colorado Buffaloes sports teams or participating in CU’s many service organizations. Within the Leeds School of Business, students can participate in about 40 academic clubs, such as The National Association of Women M.B.A.’s and the CU Finance Club.

In the classroom, Leeds grad students can earn an M.S. in accounting with a specialization in either financial accounting or taxation. Those who choose the taxation program work closely with the Colorado Law School, and many students go on to become certified tax preparers and participate in a program that helps prepare the taxes of low-income Colorado families. Leeds students interested in earning an M.B.A. take classes either full time or in the evenings. Students with professional experience can check out the CU Executive M.B.A. program, with classes located in Denver.

To make the most of their academics, Leeds students should explore the school’s Career Connections, which helps them with a myriad skills, such as perfecting cover letters and résumés, finding jobs, interviewing, career planning, and networking.
