The Farmer School of Business at Miami University (Farmer) offers these departments and concentrations: finance, general management, and marketing. Its tuition is part-time: $1,050 per credit (in-state); part-time: $1,050 per credit (out-of-state); specialty master's: $995 per credit (in-state); and specialty master's: $995 per credit (out-of-state).

Business students at Miami University take classes in the Farmer School of Business building, which is the first structure on the Oxford, Ohio, campus to earn a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.

Graduate students at the Farmer School can earn master’s degrees in economics, accountancy, and business administration. The master’s of accountancy (MAcc) class is small, with just 20 to 25 students, and acceptance into the program is competitive. MAcc students have the opportunity to teach introductory accountancy courses, and there is a job-placement rate of about 95 percent for recent graduates, who enter careers that range from fraud investigation to investment banking.

The Farmer School of Business also offers a master’s of economics program, which has graduated notable alumni such as Chung Un-chan, former prime minister of South Korea. The Farmer School also offers a professional M.B.A. program, which is designed for students who are employed full time. Students can take classes in the evenings and on weekends to complete the program in two years.

M.B.A. classes are not held at the main campus in Oxford, but in West Chester, about a 45 minute drive to the southeast. In West Chester, students earn their M.B.A.s in the Voice of America Learning Center, which is roughly 25 miles from both Cincinnati and Dayton.

MAcc: Students complete the program in two semesters, carrying a 15-credit-hour load each semester. Our program is designed for full-time students, and all students enter the program in the fall semester. MECO: The program is designed to be completed in one year and prepares students for employment or the pursuit of a Ph.D. in economics. There are a total of 31 credit hours. Course work occupies the fall and spring semesters. During the summer, students may work with a faculty supervisor on a thesis, or work with a team of students on a research project. MSBA: 30 credit hour program. Upon completion of the first semester of courses, students will receive a Certificate in Business Analytics. Completion of the second semester will result in a Certificate in Advanced Business Analytics. In order to successfully complete the MSBA students must also complete a 6-credit hour experiential learning project that spans winter term and spring semester. Our program is designed for full-time students. All students enter the program in the fall semester. MSiM: 30 credit hour program. There is an embedded certificate in business management. There are three component parts: preparation, practice, and execution. The three parts will collectively engage the student by building a foundation of knowledge of the functional areas of business, applying that knowledge in the practice component, and finally, creating new knowledge that informs business practice in the execution component.
