Challenging program, great value

I'm currently a working professional studying International Business and Management at FIU. This is a great University with a culturally diverse community which adds value in the studies of International Business. Professors challenge you, ultimately it is up to the student to take their education to the highest of excellence. The business program however, has great opportunities with study abroad trips, startup program, academic resources, and a diverse, international community.

Great university for those who know what they want!

I did both my Bachelors and doctoral degree at FIU, I spent a total of 10 years walking around campus and seeing buildings appear every year. I am doing now my postdoctoral work at one of the top 10 universities in the world and have received near a million dollar in funding and published in a leading journal. So, thanks to my FIU degrees I was able to get ahead in my career. However, this did not just happen by luck. I had to work really hard, but really really hard. Nonetheless, I am thankful to FIU and professors at FIU that gave me the chance.

FIU is perfect and inexpensive. There is basically nothing wrong here it's great. Awesome advisers, good honors program, I am a biomedical engineering major and I love it.

FIU is great

I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. I'm in the Honors college as a biomedical engineering major currently and the professors are wonderful, the campus is beautiful, and it's located in Miami with a lot of cultural diversity. Overall, for me, it's perfect.

Up and Coming University

FIU is rapidly improving in the rankings even though it is relatively young (50 years old). Its program in International business is ranked 6th in the nation, and the graduate program in the top 15. The graduate program in International Affairs is ranked #10 nationally and its United Nations Model is ranked #2. Taking into account their Law School is less than 20 years old, it consistently ranks #1 in Florida for the Bar passage rates. The Hospitality program is also one of the best in the nation but US news does not rank that major. Relating to the actual campus, most buildings are new with pleasant surroundings.

Great University with great resources

This University presents a wide variety of scholarships for those are interested in research. The level of research is noticeably higher than the same ranking universities. The other advantage of this University is its location (Miami) with nice and friendly people where lead to feeling like home as an international student. The weather is great all year round and the foods are perfect. Moreover, there are lots of outdoor activities (on-campus and off-campus) that you never feel board.

Great public university in the heart of Miami.

Activities and social life: Not a lot really to do on campus for the time being. However, the campus is rapidly expanding and things can change in the near future (and you're in Miami, there's always something to do off-campus). City and setting: What can say, a public university in the heart of Miami. I couldn't ask for a better location. Classes and teachers: Like any large public university, it's hit or miss. Some good, some bad...some terrible...some great. Dinning and food: Once again, about as much dinning options as you would expect for a university of its size. However, just off-campus is where the real dinning experience begins. So many great food options to choose from. You'll never have trouble trying to find good food in the area. I guarantee it. Dorms and housing: New and modern. Health and safety: Always felt safe during my time at FIU. However, since it is the "big city" you do have the occasional vagrant that wonders onto campus...then there was the infamous "butt grabber" of 2014. Bottom line: No other public university in Florida can offer what FIU can. Beautiful and modern campus in the heart of Miami. It's a long way from "Hogtown", that's for sure.
