Incredible school

I visited and after the tour, I was blown away. The campus on lake michigan is incredible. The engineering classes I sat in on were incredibly taught. Dream school.

An amazing education. An extraordinarily well-rounded school. The perfect place to spend a few years and get perspective on life. You will work hard here, but will enjoy every minute. Northwestern opened tremendous doors for me. It's prestigious, sure, but backs it up with deep expertise in every area, and a student body that is collaborative, warm, and brilliant.

Amazing Experience

Northwestern is an amazing school. I have dyslexia and ADHD. The accessibility department was wonderful. They always made sure I had what I needed to be successful in college. The staff and professors at the school really want everyone to figure out a way to make it work. I loved going to NU!

I didn't know anything about Northwestern until I was on campus, and I'm glad to say matriculating here was the best decision of my life. The community vibrates with positivity and life, and being surrounded by a diverse group of people who are so dedicated and passionate makes you really want to push yourself to be your best. Naturally, the competitive environment here can be stressful, but I've found that the vast majority of students here (thankfully) aren't cutthroat and that collaboration is emphasized in the culture so that you don't have to struggle alone :). Evanston outside of campus is quite safe, but like anywhere else it's important to be cautious and aware at night. If you like being next to a massive body of water, the campus is literally on a beach and lake, too (Yes, they also have a boating/sailing center)! Though, I admit that no one really takes advantage of it until of spring and summer. Close proximity to various restaurants and research/internships in and around Evanston and Chicago is a plus. Sports are decent if that's your thing. Dorms range from terrible to excellent (avoid Bobb and PLEX, there are much better options! lol), but they've been tearing down all the dorms and replacing them with luxurious, modern ones (e.g. 560 Lincoln, Shepard Hall, New Willard). Only thing that mildly bothers me is Northwestern being very cold during the winter, and I'm not too big of a fan of the fast-paced quarter system.... oh, and CAPS can be meh sometimes D:<

My four years at Northwestern were great. Great friends, terrific teachers, Chi town was fun, and the connections I've made since graduating were outstanding. If you can get in, go here. YOu won't be disappointed. Then again, if you get into Princeton, maybe go there.

Fantastic academics

I was blown away by the depth and clarity sitting in on lectures in the McCormick school, and how granular and precise the teaching is. NU also seems to have a very strong reputation for potential employers, though I don't think this should be a major factor in college choice.
