Worth it!!

I am enjoying my time as an ASU Online Student. I am back to school after graduating high school a lil over 10 years ago. The layout of the online program is great, especially if you are already an independent type of person who doetneed someone right over you. The fact that you can do your assignments at your own pace - As Long As It is Submitted by the Deadline is awesome and I really appreciate that. That fact makes this school worth it. I haven't been to the actual campus yet but I am sure it's nice. I'm in my first year and I am enjoying it. It is more rigorous and it is more difficult than I anticipated it to be. The university really pushes critical thinking and I am pushed to my thinking limit.

Fantastic and inclusive school that puts your needs first

My experience at ASU has been incredible. I've loved all my classes, connected with many of my professors, and have found a home here in Arizona. ASU has an incredible social scene that truly has something for everyone - from greek life to academic clubs to lightsaber training - and you can major in virtually anything you want. I know people who have been doing research since their freshman year here; you can really get involved and bolster your resume right away. I can't speak highly enough of this university.

Great school with extensive online options

I choose Arizona State to earn my online masters in history. The flexibility to do papers, reading and watch lectures on my schedule (I work full-time) was a blessing. I found the teachers to be very engaging. They had high, but reasonable demands, for what was expected of students and facilitated discussion through on-line bulletin board postings. The quality of the teaching and student expectations were high. While nothing can replace the spontaneity of a bricks and mortar classroom, the content covered and expectations of students was the same as what the on-campus students experienced. Since I knew I wouldn't be able to pursue this degree with a traditional on-campus experience, it was important to me that the school itself had a good reputation. You won't run into anybody who hasn't heard of ASU. That makes a difference when you pursue a job.

For 35 years, Arizona State University has been a key player in helping me develop both professionally and personally. I earned undergraduate and graduate degrees there, and it was thanks to an ASU faculty contact that I secured a job in France (it. was. awesome.). Later, I became an adjunct faculty member in ASU's foreign language department, and subsequently worked at the ASU Alumni Association. Today I'm back at the University as a graphic designer for the Cronkite School of Journalism. ASU has been immeasurably good to me in more ways than I can count. There are more opportunities and a broader variety of experiences available at ASU than at any other school I've attended, including Tulane and UCLA (which were good experiences, but ASU was even better). You may have to dig a little to find those opportunities, but everything--EVERYTHING--is waiting for you to find at ASU.

The skills and knowledge I learned during my 4 years as an undergrad not only gave me the tools but the courage to go for my Masters. With an average enrollment of less than 300 the selection to the WP Carey School of Business is tough. Knowing how demanding the program is is why being able to say MBA and put it in a resume is one of the greatest achievements of my life.

ASU provided me world-class research and learning environment for my Civil Engineering (Tranportation) graduate studies (MS+PhD). I found the main (Tempe) campus superb for students from diverse background/countries.

Supportive, Flexible and Accommodating!

I transferred to ASU in the 1980's, and they made the admission process very easy. I went to school part-time for a year while working full-time to establish in-state residency. I was studying Computer Information Systems, and had worked briefly as a programmer, when I heard about an opportunity through ASU's Career Services Center to work for IBM. I was able to secure the position, which was as a sales and marketing intern. This led to a change in my career goals, and the ASU College of Business was able to structure a custom, computer-emphasized, marketing degree for me. I graduated with a BS in Marketing, and have had a successful career in the PC industry. I always recommend ASU highly to anyone who wants to control their future with guidance and support from their college.

A balanced education

Attending law school at ASU was a positive experience. The relationship between the administration, faculty and students was healthy and beneficial to the students. (They were then ranked around 25th in the country, but are rated even higher now.) The school was competitive and laid-back at the same time. A good place to have fun and obtain an excellent education.
