The best opportunity around

Yes it's expensive, no nobody will hold your hand. At Drexel, anything you set your mind to is achievable. Its like a treadmill, its for students that know exactly what they want and cant be distracted from it. As a BSBA graduate with a minor in photography, there is hardly anything I didn't receive from the school. With the exception of one not so great program head for my minor, the rest was magic because of the collaboration opportunities that came from that issue with countless other departments that resulted in my success. But to me, when I hear Drexel's name. I think "opportunity". Its a fantastic school that has some incredible highly ranked departments.

Transferred into Drexel as a junior from a higher ranked engineering college ($). What I received through the co-op program was a decisive viewpoint of exactly I wanted to do, not from a technical perspective, but from a holistic one. The program (coop and advisory) helped me identify the environment I wanted to be in, along with the metric of what I would give up for other means. For example, work at an ongoing site as a hands on engineer vs. sit in a cube and design on the PC. Give up the comfy office space for the satisfaction of seeing my efforts be deployed. there other main focus was that the first school I attended trained engineers to be engineers and excel at engineering. Drexel focuses on training engineering companies to develop engineering firms and be in business as entrepreneur. Went back for MBA.

The best education of my life

While my experience is a bit out of date, I have the advantage of hindsight. I went to Drexel as an undergrad. The value and the quality of the experience was better than my subsequent experiences in masters and PhD programs. I also loved being in Philadelphia.

Not worth the cost!

My son graduated from the Westphal College with a BS in Game Art and Production. BS is right! What a waste of time. He's now in debt with no prospects of a job in that field. The professors don't offer any assistance to make sure that when you graduate in this field you have a usable portfolio so maybe...just maybe a game company might look at you and give you a chance. The school needs to look at this program and it's co-op for this program and do some serious revamping. Think about the future of the students, not just the bottom line!! I would not recommend this school for this program to anyone. Look elsewhere!!

Not Working For The Students

Many of my friends as well as myself have had problems with this University. Drexel charges a hefty ticket price for dorms that don't seem at all worth the cost. The courses are good, but the supplies add to the financial stress. As someone who got into Drexel via loans and scholarships, I often had to wait almost two weeks after classes started to get my books and supplies due to the billing system. As a second year, students are given the choice of the dorms or the ACC apartments. If you can't afford the apartments, the dorms are there. However, with the growing freshman class size and no growth in housing, students are not guaranteed a space in the dorms after sophomore year. Between housing struggles, a heavy course load in a quarter system, surprising fees, and very little campus-run health and mental health support, the ticket price doesn't look proportional to the effort put in by the university.

Great School in a Great City

My older brother went here, I went here, and soon my Son, so I know how good it is in Engineering and Computer Science. I also work with dozens of Engineers from Drexel. The academics and co-op program could not prepare you better for a career and graduates are in high demand. As a full national university with many colleges you can pursue and learn almost anything. Socially and Culturally you have all of the benefits of University City plus Philadelphia and lots of diversity (people, activities, housing, and cuisine)

Choosing to be at Drexel University was the best decision I have ever made. I feel blessed and thankful to be at Drexel with Scholarship. Our main campus is right near the Center City of Philadelphia. Our classrooms are quite small, we have variety food options right on campus, and we have countless opportunities for professional development. On top of everything, can't beat the Co-Op opportunity! I met many students who secured their post graduation job through Co-Op and I also experienced that many corporations think of Drexel students very highly.
