Great all around

By A, From Virginia

What an experience. I wouldn't trade my time at Denison for anything. And as my time since graduating increases, I only appreciate Denison more. The friends, classes, activities, opportunities, facilities.... all of these things combine to create an remarkable campus community and give me a rich college experience.

Wack

By Jack, From Granville, Ohio

Middle of nowhere with nothing to do but study. The dorms are old and dirty which makes everyone sick.

Great experience, 4.5 stars

By Class of 1990, From New York, NY

I had a terrific experience at Denison. The quality of and access to the faculty was stand-out. ...small class sizes, and professors living nearby (dinner invitations to professor's homes, almost all of which were within walking distance of campus, were common). The campus itself is beautiful, and facilities top notch. There are several new'ish' buildings, including a large athletics facility. Only knock is that the town, Granville, is small. So there's not a lot to do off campus, which can feel isolating at times. However, I wouldn't have traded the whole experience for something else. My son will be applying for early decision this fall.

Yes but no

By John H. 2022, From Charlottesville, VA

The faculty are amazing, the teaching, superb, but the student body is downright toxic. Be prepared to contract depression or anxiety issues and have them solved by incompetent therapists.

Physics Transfer from Caltech to Dension

By Jeff of 1988, From Ohio

Many years ago I transferred from Caltech to Denison to study physics. Denison offered not only a world class physics and mathematics faculty but a course of study that emphasized the social sciences, religion, music... For those not 100% sure that they want to do a PhD in the sciences, post docs, tenure track..., Denison is a great choice to broaden your knowledge while still immersed in a quality science curriculum. Of the four colleges and universities I've attended, none had a sense of community that compared to Dension. It is a place that feels like home even thirty years later; after living outside of Ohio for the majority of a career with a Fortune 10 company, I've moved back to within 5 miles of the school. Denison will provide opportunities and experiences at every turn. I hope you consider Denison and come to care for it as much of thousands of us do.

Great breath to the education

By Sandy of 2010, From Boston, MA

Smallish school in a smallish town, an absolutely beautiful campus and town. The nature and size of the school results in a level of trust in the community that i cannot see at a large school. The result of the initmacy of the school is that it is easy to develope a large social group and experience a diversity of ideas, dreams and aspiration of your fellow students. I went there as a step to medical school and instead ultimately became a venture capitalist in new technologies after pursuing further studies in chemistry. This career path started from discussing careers ideas with other fellow students. I gained very meaningful perspective from fellow students and faculty which turned out to be as important as getting an excellent liberal arts education as a sort of starting point for my future..

Excellent school! Lots of leadership opportunities

By Hedy C., class of 1989, From Cleveland, OH

I was lucky enough to graduate from Denison back in 1989. My education was exceptional. And the many leadership opportunities enabled me to be both an RA (or SA) and an HR at Smith and Shepardson respectively. I also was granted a full-tuition scholarship to CWRU law school. Love Denidoo.
