Love unf
By KV class of 22, From Jax, FL
It's an amazing place. Just about all the professors go above and beyond (always a few horror stories about some) to help you out and are really good teachers. Most classes are small with the exception of some gen ed courses. The athletes are all really nice people, inclusive and friendly. UNF is really coming up as a D1 school and the athletes really have talent, good games and matches to watch. There's always something going on on campus (usually always free food) and the caf is actually pretty good, sometimes there's a bad night but almost always something good.

Willingness to Learn
By Ashley, Class of 2022, From FL
I've thought a lot about education quality in the past few months, and what I find special about UNF is the access that students can acquire at this university like access to certain labs, equipment, and their professors' time. Students who have a strong desire to apply their studies have access to resources to do so. I have been tremendously fortunate to get to speak with professors one-on-one for sometimes hours at a time, because professors here seem to treat their office hours as mentor-ship hours. At larger Universities especially, this kind of access has to be shared by too many students and professors often too busy to take the time. Because of this access outside of the classroom, I feel as though I am building my knowledge and skillbase, and the quality of my education is excellent.

Three very wrong in-depth occurances
By Jeffrey, From FL
My first experience at UNF has not been a good one. I started in Summer of 2019, transferring from Saint Johns River State College. The first issue I came across was that for some odd reason I could not meet with an academic advisor until the semester had already started. From the moment I had my grades finalized, before my transcript was released, I spear headed my registration holds only to find that they refused to allow students to see their college advisors until after the first day of class. That meant I could not register until after classes started. The school is backwards. The next issue I came across has to do with my income. I'm a veteran, and as such I get a housing allowance for attending school. The BAH is based on how many credits I take each semester. As if just getting in to classes wasn't following a backward process already, the third class I had registered for was canceled midway through Summer A. That meant, in order to receive full benefits, I had to register for a class only available in Summer B. What's worse is that most of the classes available had prerequisites that I hadn't had enough time in college to fulfill. Finally, we come to the financial aid piece. I'm not sure who's idea it was to have such complicated processes to ensure that financial aid is unavailable until all trials have run out and you miss half of the assignments that require the books you can't afford, but this school takes forever when it comes to financial aid, not only in disbursement, but also when it comes to requesting any required documents. They asked me to fill out an independent validation form about a week after classes began. I sent it in a couple days later. A week and a half later, they asked to fill out a form to clarify my household, understandable since my household is 6 large. Realizing this should not have taken more than a week. As of now, I can't say that I have any confidence in this University's Administrative capability.
