The business school at Governors State University offers these departments and concentrations: finance, general management, leadership, and supply chain management/logistics. Its tuition is part-time: $406 per credit (in-state); part-time: $812 per credit (out-of-state); specialty master's: $406 per credit (in-state); and specialty master's: $812 per credit (out-of-state).
The College of Business Graduate Admission Committee will not review applications until all items have been received. Applicants will be expected to have a 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) in their last 60 credit hours of their bachelor’s degree. Applicants will want to check the application deadlines for their desired term of entry. For students that are interested in receiving financial support from Governors State University, applications are reviewed on a first come status and while other conditions may need to be met, it is important to submit documents early. The application process is a two-part process, requiring (1) completion of online application and fee; and (2) submission of supplemental documents. Applicants must submit transcripts from all U.S schools attended whether a degree was earned or not. Transcripts can be mailed directly to: Governors State University Admission Processing Office or submitted electronically to [email protected]. Applicants will need to submit a current professional resume, a two page, double-spaced statement of intent, two letters of recommendation and their GMAT or GRE score.
Accounting MS – Applicants are evaluated on academic background, work experience/career development, motivation and leadership potential and communication ability. Applicants must submit a personal statement of intent, resume, two confidential letters of recommendations from professional references, and a GMAT or GRE score. Students may waive the GMAT or GRE requirement based on undergraduate GPA, work experience, or completion of another graduate degree. Business Analytics MS - Applicants are evaluated on academic background, work experience/career development, motivation and leadership potential and communication ability. Applicants must submit a personal statement of intent, resume, two confidential letters of recommendations from professional references, and a GMAT or GRE score. Students may waive the GMAT or GRE requirement based on undergraduate GPA, work experience, or completion of another graduate degree. Human Resources Management MS - In addition to university admission requirements, applicants must submit the following documents as part of their application package: two confidential letters of recommendation from professional references; current resume; and a two-page, double-spaced statement of intent. The statement of intent offers applicants an additional opportunity to demonstrate writing and communication skills and supports candidacy for the MS in HRM degree.

The MBA curriculum includes a professional development seminar, required courses, selective specialization courses and a capstone course. Required courses provide fundamental business knowledge and skills, while selectives provide knowledge and practices that help students strengthen their expertise in their chosen areas of specialty. The strategic management capstone helps reinforce and integrate fundamental and specialized skills with the help of a case-focused approach.
MSA - The Master of Science in Accounting is designed with the foundational technical knowledge needed to obtain the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential while improving skills in finance, management, audit and assurance services, taxation and business regulatory environments, and accounting information systems. Students may focus their program to specific career interests, whether in management, taxation, financial planning, or general business. MSBA - The Master of Science in Business Data Analytics program is designed to prepare students to use data to add value to organizations. Students complete coursework in data management, business analytics, data visualization, predictive analytics, utilizing skills in SQL, data analysis software, and a variety of data sources and datasets. MSHRM - The Master of Science in Human Resource Management curriculum is aligned with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) competency model and prepares students for positions of middle and top level leadership in the human resource management function. It is a specialized program of study designed for students with preparation in a variety of fields such as business, psychology, sociology and communications. A broad core of courses provides an in-depth understanding of human resource management operations and management. In addition, selective courses provide a working understanding of the major business functions.
