The David Eccles School of Business at University of Utah (Eccles) offers these departments and concentrations: accounting, consulting, economics, entrepreneurship, ethics, finance, general management, health care administration, human resources management, international business, leadership, marketing, management information systems, not-for-profit management, production/operations management, portfolio management, public administration, real estate, quantitative analysis/statistics and operations research, and technology. Its tuition is full-time: $30,000 per year (in-state); full-time: $31,000 per year (out-of-state); part-time: $29,400 per year (in-state); part-time: $29,400 per year (out-of-state); executive: $42,500 per year (in-state); executive: $42,500 per year (out-of-state); specialty master's: $31,600 total program (in-state); and specialty master's: $54,300 total program (out-of-state). At graduation, 57.80 percent of graduates of the full-time program are employed.
University of Utah business students attend the David Eccles School of Business, which is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business and named after one of the state’s most prominent industrialists. Graduate students at the Eccles School have various options to pursue an MBA, including full-time and online programs. Students can also pursue dual degree programs and a variety of master’s degrees, including in accounting, finance, information systems, real estate development and health care administration.
Full-time MBA students usually have about four years of work experience prior to starting the program, which takes almost two years to complete. The Professional MBA program is designed for students with approximately five years of experience in the field and consists of two evening classes per week, for two years. Professionals with at least six years of related experience can apply to the Executive MBA program, which meets every other weekend for 21 months.
Students in Utah's Eccles School can find lots to do on and around the Salt Lake City campus. There are professional basketball, hockey and baseball teams located in Salt Lake City, as well as the Utah Symphony, many pubs and shopping destinations such as City Creek Center. Utah students can also have fun by hitting the slopes of several nearby ski and snowboard resorts.
Graduates can join the University of Utah Alumni Association, which offers intensive workshops, resume writing tips and job boards.
