A wonderful place to embrace rich cultural activities

Athens is a great place to live if you like safe, friendly, and friends like yourself. Plenty of coffee shops and bars within walking and biking distance. A lot of cultural activities throughout the whole year. Athens is one of the most friendly towns for bikers. People enjoy outdoor activities. Colleagues are very friendly and active in many areas, including research, teaching, and outreach. The tight budget in the past several years has hurt the ranking badly but the strong teaching and research culture continue with the same faculty team.
