The overall experience was amazing. The alumni network is huge. Many graduates are leaders in medicine, law, business having matriculated to some of the world's most competitive graduate programs and professional schools. Atlanta offers much to students and visiting parents. The school is gated and secured from the surrounding neighborhood w/ the exception of a few buildings. Spelman and Clark Atlanta are literally next door so the diversity of genders, interests and backgrounds is vast. Depending on your major, you could very well share class w/ students from the AUC community. The expectations are high so your students will be motivated to excel in ways you couldn't imagine. The new President has a great background and fresh ideas that I embrace. These students are sharp, well-spoken and well-read embracing education in ways that improve world-views. My only suggestion would be to increase student services staff ie advisers/counselors and to enhance the stadium esthetics.

Long Term Results

I didn't attend Morehouse...but over the years I've become close friends with many Morehouse men. They are an exceptional group. If they start medical school they finish medical school...and internships, and residencies. If they decide to go to law school they finish and the next thing you know they are U.S. Attorneys and later judges. They are confident but not arrogant. They are proud of their Blackness and perfectly comfortable being around White folks. I don't know what exactly the Morehouse formula for Black male success is but for the past thirty years I have seen the outstanding results.

A Beacon of Black Male Leadership

My time at Morehouse College is some of the most treasured times of my life. You'll find professors who care about you and will go the extra mile. The college is one of the top 30 schools in the country at placing their graduates into Ivy League graduate programs. They have produced 5 Rhodes Scholars over the past 20 years. But, it's what you get in addition to that, that sets Morehouse apart. There is an emphasis on producing young men who will be leaders in their field and among their people. There is constant exposure to leaders outside the classroom that the students are required and / or encouraged to engage. In terms of social outlets, there's always something going on whether it's parties, music, sports.............the school is in Atlanta. In and of itself that lends itself to all the things going on the in the city. Send your son to Morehouse and he'll come back home as a man you can be proud of.

Not worth the money

This school is a joke living on its reputation. Academically it is great, but there is nothing else for the students. The facilities are awful, the acceptance rate is 76%, so if you have a pulse you will be accepted. The tuition is 25k per semester with housing, but meal plans take 2 months to become active. Students can't leave campus or they will be mugged, and robbed. There is no security and it is located in the absolute worst area in Atlanta. Save your money go to a local school.
