An exceptional education and experience....
By Joe-Class of 1986, From Pennsylvania
I thought it might be useful to offer a longitudinal perspective on attending Susquehanna University. One of my siblings attended SU (late 1970's), so I was familiar with campus. It was one of 4 colleges to which I was accepted. I felt as though a larger school was a bit impersonal for me and eventually decided on Susquehanna. As a point of reference, SU was on a trimester schedule and smaller--about 1200 students--when I enrolled. My perspective--while always positive--has evolved over time and I believe SU offered an incredibly valuable education and general environment to begin the transition into adulthood. I double majored and was heavily involved in organizations outside my fields of study. I was always able to access my professors for help and advice and appreciated their dedication to teaching. It was quite common to see professors and other staff in attendance at sporting events, concerts and other student activities. As time passes the value of a liberal arts education--which is often touted but not frequently quantified--becomes more concrete and easily understood. I grew up in a smaller town, so even the meager offerings of Selingsgrove and the surrounding area were sufficient for me--I focused most of my activities on campus. When I started graduate school, I was surprised to find that two texts in my Master's program were used in my undergraduate classes at Susquehanna. From lifetime friends, to strong academic preparation and a meaningful connection to the arts and greek life--I strongly recommend Susquehanna University. Having completed Master's and Doctoral programs I found my coursework, opportunities for research and presentation/publication extremely important. If one thing gives me pause, it's that SU's rankings seem to have dropped as a result of the significant increase in students. Best wishes to those considering and attending SU.

Would choose this school again and again
By Ali B, Class of 2020, From Bryn Mawr, PA
During my college search I toured over 20 schools... I had no idea what I wanted but eventually chose SU and now, as I begin my third year there, I know that I would continue to choose it again and again if given the opportunity. Susquehanna offers such an incredible community that, as cliche as it sounds, really does make you feel like you are at home. Nearly every professor I have had is genuinely dedicated to their work and willing to go out of their way to help their students succeed. There are endless opportunities for involvement on and off campus and you will certainly never find yourself bored!

Susquehanna University Review
By Tyler, Class of 2020, From Selinsgrove, PA
Overall, I have come to love this campus. As a junior at the univerestiy, I have learned about many of the leadership roles, activities, and resources the campus has to offer and I have officially immersed myself in these apsects. I am proud of my roles and that fact that the Susquehanna gives me the opportunity to feel this way.

A Unique and Personalized College Experience!
By Alexa G., Class of 2019, From Northport, NY
The professors at SU are incredibly involved in the students success, often going the extra mile to create new opportunities for them and help them in all endeavors. Small class sizes optimize the learning experience, while students are able to get hands on research projects and practicum very early on in their college career. Student life presents so many different activities that you are bound to get involved with something you love, from our great musical ensembles, to over 100 different clubs and 23 varsity sports teams.

Endless Opportunities with Impactful Academics
By Nickala H, Class of 2019, From West Chester, PA
Susquehanna University is truly the best place to prepare you not only as a student, but as a person, for the working world. The liberal arts education in the classroom provides you with not only your hard skills such as mathematics and courses for your major but also shapes your soft skills such as public speaking and working in diverse work environments. The global opportunities program that is built into the curriculum of going abroad domestically or internationally allows all students to truly apply their learning from the classroom and grow as worldly citizens. The Career Development Center is an incredible resource in assisting students find internships and job opportunities through the abundant alumni connections with the university. All students are extremely involved in and out of the classroom with extracurricular activities, different service projects and leadership roles. Susquehanna has shaped me from the introverted high school student into the extroverted, outgoing strong woman I am with many leadership roles and extreme campus involvement who was lucky to experience Greece through the Global Opportunities program. I never will be able to express my gratitude to Susquehanna University for all that the faculty, staff, and alumni have done for me.

Best Education for the Price
By Jacqueline Class of 2020, From East Hampton, NY
I came to this school from NY. Although it is far away from my hometown (about 6 hours), I never once feel as though I made the wrong decision. The class sizes are small, so you are able to know your professors on a deeper level, and you become a person to them rather than just a number. All of the faculty at SU are here for the students and genuinely have our best interests at heart. There are no limits when you come here, and you're constantly encouraged to push yourself past your own expectations.
