True college experience

I graduated in 4.5 years from MSU in 1990 with a degree in Speech Communications (went on to earn a master's degree to become a Speech Pathologist). While at MSU, I took advantage of the Greek system (joining my freshman year) and "over seas study" in Hawaii my junior year). My education was definitely well-rounded. Aside from gen. ed. and my major classes, I took electives in the arts, education classes, psychology classes, business classes and some more fun classes like ice skating, aerobics and sailing. I formed deep, meaningful relationships and am still friends with my college roommates and many of the ladies from my sorority. My husband, brother and sister also attended MSU in the mid-80's and early 90's. 2 of my 3 children attend MSU now. Their experiences have been similar to mine. As a family, we love the unity that MSU creates in cheering for our teams! The campus is breathtaking. The dorm life is just what anyone would imagine it to be. The food selection (compared to other colleges that I've visited as well as my oldest child's college) is superior. MSU is family oriented, yet still provides young students the opportunity to grow into responsible adults. The seriousness of learning is well balanced with the enjoyment of living.
