Indiana University--Bloomington User Reviews and Ratings

Great School

By Mike S. class of 1975 and 1976, From Okeechobee, Florida

I did both BSEd and MSEd one after another. I found classes to be generally challenging and usually entertaining. Social life on weekends was great. I was an Army Veteran.

Incredible academic institution with lifetime opportunities!

By Class of 1997, From Chicago

Indiana University is a fantastic school that leads to a lifetime of opportunities. There are a number of degree programs rated in the top ten in the nation (e.g. Kelly School of Business), but the true differentiation of IU goes well beyond your time in Bloomington. IU is very highly regarded in the business world which benefits you throughout your career. There is also a passion and ongoing enthusiasm that alumni have for the school, and their college experience, that you will not see in alumni from most other schools. This is overwhelmingly apparent and what prospectus students don't realize when making their college decision. Students experience in Bloomington will be the best time of their lives and they will forever cherish the learning opportunities and friendships that last a lifetime.

I graduated from Kelley school of Business in 2002. It was a wholesome experience I received. The School facilities, faculty, living space was by far the best.

Best school I have attended

By Rick, class of 89, From Indiana

I have attended IU, Purdue, Butler, Cincinnati, Manchester University and IUPUI. The atmosphere of learning at IU is far superior to all these schools. It is difficult to compare apples to oranges as IU churns out doctors, lawyers, musicians, etc., while Purdue is more ag/engineering based, however, the difference in campus and world of academia are significant.

Solid school with a chance at excellence

By Dad, From North Carolina

Housing must be fixed ASAP. No more band aids on the out dated, moldy dorms.Tuition increases seem to be automatic...it's not the responsibility of the current student body to cover the updates that should have been ongoing year over year.

Global Campus

By student! 2019, From Barcelona, Spain

Did you know, IU offers the most languages out of any university in the United States?! IU also offers a ton of study abroad options of various lengths. The best thing is, we get to go to comparable universities in other countries, so we don't have to step down in terms of the quality of education just to study abroad. The best experience was when I took some business courses at Oxford University and a close friend from IU was studying at the London School of Economics, so we would meet up on the weekends and explore England (and a bit of Europe). Back at IU, there are a ton of opportunities to learn about different cultures: from our culture centers to CultureFest, to the Lotus World Music and Arts festival that brings in talented artists from all around the globe. IU's alumni include parliament members in other countries, UN officials, and a bunch of cool people in powerful places! I mean how cool is hopping over to the Republic of Ireland and seeing that the President is an IU alum?!!

Best Business School

By Chris., Class of 2021, From San Francisco, California

IU Bloomington is home a stellar business school shaping leaders for tomorrow. The focus on emerging technology is prevalent throughout the curriculum and the opportunities are enormous. Automatically, by going to IU, you will be set with a good career, and with the tools to advance quickly. The professors are award-winning and genuinely want to see students learn. The culture is competitive in the best way. Everyone is kind and incredibly intelligent. If you get in, I encourage you to explore the city of Bloomington and the many events that take place on and off IU's campus. Lots of concerts and famous guests travel out of their way to perform for IU students! Don't get me started on the food haha!

Great Program, Highly Recommend

By Alumni, From San Francisco

Little bit of a marathon but great processors, very organized and strategic program, intelligent but competitive atmosphere, and amazing facilities. Guarantee you will come out feeling very knowledgable and confident/will impress your first boss. The rest of IU is a fun school with a beautiful campus and great college town! Major danger is getting caught up in the fun and failing out/having to take an extra year (wouldn't join a frat/sorority if you want to be an average+ student). Best part about Kelley I didn't realize until after graduating... the alumni will work hard for you!
