HI 0fficer, in VMI do you use to offer the full scholarship for young Africans who want to be the military officers in their countries? tell me
Asked by Marchal from Kigali,Rwanda
Do you have to participate in the ROTC program. If so is there a active duty requirement upon graduation.
Asked by Jillian from Milford, CT.
Yes, you do have to participate in the ROTC Program rat year (freshman year). However no later than 2nd class year (depending on what ROTC program you choose, army, navy, marines, or air force) you will not longer have to be with the ROTC program, instead training with other non-commissioning (non-com) cadets. ***The Army ROTC Program for example, allows non-com cadets to skip Army PT and a lot of army training in 2nd class year and later 1st class year (senior year).*** There is no active duty requirement, unless you have picked up an ROTC Scholarship or contract. Although it is not mandatory, it is highly encouraged that cadets graduate and commission in our military. We don't do ordinary. Best of luck!

Hi I want to go to VMI for engineering and wanted to know how long the engineering program is.
Asked by Sterline from Federalsburg MD
It's difficult and well regarded. The professors and helpful. If you are superior at time management then I highly recommend VMI. If not you will not survive.
