Hood College User Reviews and Ratings

Excellent Academic Experience

By Snaffy, From Washington, DC

My experience at Hood college was one of the most rewarding and fulfilling college experiences I could have hoped for. Yes, there are more competitive schools with larger endowments, more extensive campus facilities and more rigorous academic offerings, but that would not change the choice that I made to attend Hood. From the professors, staff and student population, I was completely enriched, individually challenged and made some of the best friends of my life. If you are looking for a small liberal arts school where your professors know and care about you and you have tremendous opportunity ities to grow and learn, then Hood might be your college. I am extremely proud of having attended Hood. It prepared me for an Ivy League graduate program as well as provided me with friendships and contacts that will last a lifetime.

Ignorant student body and not worth the $$$

By Previous Hood Undergrad, From Boston, MA

In the short semester (before I transferred) I spent at Hood College, I found that many of the students lived in a bubble of ignorance, and oblivious that there are problems and other people different than themselves in the world. The student body is almost snobbish, and the faculty is unfriendly. Many are not excited about their university and are almost bored and unhappy to be there...the vibe given to visitors comes off as fake and pretentious. The professors favor certain students and they do not make you want to learn the material. The dorms are gross and they do not keep up with the maintenance. At Hood, there are not enough people that are smarter, stronger, or more knowledgeable- the kind that make you want to succeed. Financially, this school changes way more than they should- even though it is a private institution. I would not recommend attending this school if you value your college experience and more importantly, your education.
