Together We Are OVU

I've been associated with and taught math at OVU for almost 20 years. My daughter graduated from OVU, and my son will graduate this May. The experiences, education, and lifelong friendships they have made are irreplaceable. Being educated in a Christ-centered environment has made all the difference for them. I strongly recommend you schedule a campus visit and come by my office!

An amazing place to grow and be challenged

Teachers and staff that have been eager to invest in my educational development, coaches and mentors that have taken me under their wings, and a welcoming community that cared for my well-being and success. Small School, Big Impact

Ohio Valley University is a small school so you get to know your fellow students as well as the faculty and staff very well. There are small class sizes and an open door policy that makes learning and succeeding a top priority. While the campus is small, it has a historic feel and has resources and technology as well as knowledgeable professors and experienced administrators who make sure the education is top-notch and prepares you for the working world. There is a variety of activities and social opportunities as well as honor societies and lectures. It is a life-changing place, focusing on faith and transformation along with education with many opportunities for personal and spiritual growth. Many lifelong friendships with both peers and professors were forged during my years attending OVU.

Major changes needed

I received the best education I possibly could have through OVU, due solely to the incredible faculty members of the Psychology department. The most incredible opportunities were provided by them, guidance, and a breadth of knowledge. I was equipped to go straight into the wmfield and work, and equipped to seek further higher education as well. Highly recommend the psychology department. Aside from the psych department the overall experience of OVU was not a pleasant one. Lacks facilities for student recreation, and athletes-unless you are a basketball player or lax player, lacks any sort of support and empowerment for female students, and does not have crisis or counseling services on campus. Individual professors are truly incredible, loving Christians. Unfortunately this is not felt by those in charge of the school. But this is only my experience and I cannot speak for others. Since I have gone, there have been changes in leadership so I hope things have improved.

EXCELLENT!

This is one of the most unique schools on the east coast, and one of the region's best kept secrets. OVU's smallness allows faculty to provide personalized attention and mentoring to students, providing them with "life readiness" at a far higher quality than competitor schools where students can get lost in the shuffle. Innovative programs (particularly in the College of Business) such as Energy Management & Production Engineering (EMPE), Integrated Marketing & Communication (IMC), and Forensic Investigative Accounting compliment the outstanding and diverse faculty which provides an excellent educational experience for students. OVU provides quality education, a sense of belonging and community, and a positive and "real" educational experience in a time when many institutions of higher education are losing their way.
