Flagler College User Reviews and Ratings
Mediocre at best.
By Addie P., From Winter Park, FL
Flagler College still has a lot of growing to do in comparison to other private liberal arts colleges. The college lacks significant and comprehensive support systems and recourses. Ranging from lack of positions within departments to employees, and faculty, the college performs at the minimal to maintain a running college. There is very minimal state of the art facilities and resources for the college's community. I anticipate the college to expand departments, create new positions, and create new systems to better support the student population and mission of the institution. Through the perspective of a student, there is little recourses and employees responsible for overseeing essential student involvement, such as diversity. On-campus housing regulations are very conservative in nature, which does not foster liberal arts education. Additionally, the campus facilities could be significantly upgraded/ remodeled to provide state of the art communities to promote interdisciplinary learning. Furthermore, the college has poor study abroad programs/ immersions. Such opportunities should be invested and expanded to be accessible to all students. Ultimately, the college lacks serious funding and perhaps explains the underlying, mediocre resources and facilities. Ultimately, if you are looking for a private liberal arts education, look elsewhere. If not, a public university offers much more opportunities and resources than Flagler College currently does. Do not be fooled by the historic Ponce De Leon hall or the charming town, because it does not reflect the quality of education or experience that a student should be receiving? for a private liberal arts college.
