Perfect sized University to deliver a great education.

I had great experience at Eastern Illinois University. I was academically challenged and the Bachelors in Science in Family and Consumer Sciences with a focus in Hospitality Management was the perfect stepping stone to me entering culinary school. During my senior year I, unfortunately, needed two emergency surgeries and was back home taking care of this for three weeks. All my professors were more than accommodating and had nothing but my academic success and my return to full health in mind which kept me on track & I still graduated that semester as planned and entered culinary school. Safety was great here, though Health Services was severely lacking and the staff there was unwilling which is why I gave that section only two stars. In summation EIU is very supportive, yet challenging and a university I would recommend.

Solid Opportunity for Growth

After attending EIU, I attended medical. Over the past 20 years, I've worked for Kaiser Permanente as a Family Medicine physician. I'm thankful for the education I received at EIU and have fond memories of my experiences in Charleston, Illinois.

Best Foundation for my Professional Life

I attended here in the early 1990s and it was an excellent experience. The faculty were respectful and encouraging with the students. I had a fantastic mentor who set me up for career success.
