Still reaping benefits almost 10 years later

I cannot day enough positive things about both my undergraduate and graduate experiences at NYU. As others have said, world-class caring professors, amazingly smart and multi-cultural classmates, a robust set of career resources, and an incredible setting right in the West Village. It was worth the exorbitant of money every step of the way, and I still feel this way today.

An Exceptional Experience

New York University offers an unparalleled experience: from living in New York City, to learning from world-class professors, to socializing with students from all across the globe, I wouldn't have been able to gain these memories without this school. While Imposter Syndrome is real for first-generation, low-income students like myself, NYU has plenty of resources that would otherwise be unavailable to me back at home. Now that I am done with my first year, I realize this is the place I'm meant to be. While it wasn't an easy freshman year, it was a necessary one. I grew and will continue to do so.

Great Academics, Location, and Professors

While it is a big school, the professors try their best to meet with you during office hours and even outside of office hours. The location is very nice as it is in downtown NYC so there is always something to do. There are a lot of clubs and the classes are interesting.

Many Career Opportunities

Within 3 weeks of coming to NYU I had an internship in the field of business I was interested in. To this day NYU has proven to be an incredibly valuable resource to me as I start to explore my career options in detail. I'm poised as a rising junior to be offered a job upon graduation, and am confident I will find something in NYC after graduating as well. The career center is a wonderful resource and they will help you every step of the way when applying for a job - take advantage of them! It's their job to get you hired somewhere and their connections are extensive and invaluable. Always search for jobs on NYU's CareerNet, NYU alums love to hire current NYU students and in New York the university is a pretty big name. Once a semester there is a large career fair as well, if you have previous experience already the fair is a great place to gauge employees' interest in you and start to apply for internships or full-time jobs.

Transferring into NYU

I transferred to NYU this year as a junior. It was 100% the right decision. This school has become my home and has welcomed me into their community. Their staff within the communication department really care about your well being. Professors, no matter what major, will always take extra time to make sure you are truly grasping the material and want to help you succeed. Everyone at NYU is very down to earth. There is so much to do on campus, so much diversity, so many opportunities. I am honored to call this place my home.

Outstanding Business Program!

I knew Stern was a very well rounded school and I had high expectations going in. But two things that still surprised me were (1) The amount of firms that recruit at the school is astounding. Practically every investment bank, consulting firm, brand house etc comes to the school and not just once but multiple times throughout the year. You really benefit from the New York Location. (2) The people here are scarily intelligent. Both IQ wise and EQ wise. I have learned so much from my peers and have benefitted from their experiences. You can find many high IQ people at other schools but I'd be shocked if other schools also nailed the EQ part so well. Stern attracts true leaders who know the importance of location.

Best nightlife in the world!

You wouldn't think it, but NYU has an insane party life. I go out Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Even during the week, there is always something to do! NYC has everything! For a school that prides itself on academics, it came as a surprise as to how hard people party here. Hope you're not afraid of heights because rooftops are the most popular place to get together!

NYU's New York City campus houses ten schools with a wide variety of majors and minors to chose from. The classes are very interesting and the professors challenge their students, in a unique way, to do their best! NYU has several gyms to get a good workout from; it also has many clubs, club sports, and intramural sports. NYU's Athletics are Devision III. Having many international students, NYU is very diverse and multicultural. Safety should be no concern since there are security guards at the entrance of almost every building and the blue light system is pretty much all over the campus! NYU has many dorms buildings with beautiful rooms that are very spacious for sharing with others. There are at least three dining halls located on campus. The local area has a great vibe to it and is filled with a variety of restaurants, delis, food carts, and fast food places to eat from. A vast majority of students love NYU and everything it has to offer!!

One of the best schools in the world!!!

New York University is one of the best schools in the U.S.A. and also in the world. The undergraduate program is highly competitive and very demanding, but the level of education is rewarding. I feel I earned my degree and it was not just handed to me. It required long study hours and dedication but in return it prepared me to face a rigorous academic curriculum for my Masters of Advanced Medical Sciences.

Excellent education

NYU is an excellent place to get an education. Located in the heart of NYC, the greatest city in the world by far in my opinion, makes it especially desirable. The campus is surrounded by every type of business imaginable. Easy access to the Subway system places the entire city at your feet. The University undergraduate, graduate programs, offer an extensive amount of specialties. My son went to their graduate program and said the professors were engaging and phenomenally bright. Washington Square Park is vibrant. Nightlife is truly amazing. It is the city that never sleeps after all. The school is rather expensive, but the professors and location make it all worth while. It isn't difficult to see why so many dream of getting accepted to NYU.

Best School Ever!!!!

I am a Film/Television major in Tisch and I absolutely love it. Tisch is a really positive place to learn your craft. The teachers have all worked in the industry and many are award winners but you would never know it by how approachable and helpful they are. There is a lot of freedom within the departments to pursue exctly what you want to do without much red tape. You might expect there to be a lot of competition among students but in my experience, everyone wants to help each other and the connections made during school carry into the professional world. As for the rest of NYU, I think that there is a great diversity of people and that everyone can find their place. Most people are friendly and willing to meet new people so just go for it. The dating scene is what it is but you live in NYC so venture out and meet people of the opposite sex that way. Most of the dorms are pretty nice, some more so than others, but all of them are better than what you will find at other schools. Probably my favorite thing about NYU is everyone is so ambitious and doing awesome stuff with their lives and that only makes you want to better yourself. NYU...best school ever!!!!

Amazing university, amazing teachers, great people to work with and learn from!!! As an international student I felt at home immediately. New York is a huge city, but you feel at home in NYU. I've has the greatest teachers, everybody is very helpful, dorms are great, food is good, diversity is great, everybody is respectful of who you are, I've made great friends among students and also with teachers, they also have great health program for students. Campus safety is also great, we fell well taken care of. I just love NYU!

Great impact on my life

Attending NYU for my undergraduate career was a great experience. I studied mathematics at the prestigious Courant Institute under a number of well-known and very well respected mathematicians. The faculty and staff were extremely helpful in all respects, whether it came to help in the course, or advice in general about career, events outside of school, and ways to make new connections. There were many opportunities for students to meet with faculty, do research studies under the guidance of professors, and even grade homeworks of other undergraduate math courses as a help to the professors. The courses and experiences I had at NYU positively impacted my undergraduate education, and supported and pushed me towards the career path I am on now.
