Berkeley is ranked very highly for engineering. But I'm very worried about the political climate there. Would a politically conservative student need to worry about safety, backlash from fellow students, or unfair treatment by professors?

For UC Berkeley scholarships, there is no application process other than applying for financial aid by completing the FAFSA or the California Dream Act Application. Students are awarded on the basis of both academic merit and financial need. The amount of the scholarship award is based on a student’s level of financial need.
