Focused on actual schoolwork
By Brandon '19, From Minnesota
This school has a fairly large commuter population, which in turn helps students focus on what matters... the actual schoolwork. I don't remember any of my classmates actually admitting attendance to any of the sporting events, but there was definitely an atmosphere conducive to fostering competition grade-wise. If you're here to actually learn about subjects you're interested in, Hamline is a great choice. Small class sizes allow for tons of one-on-one time with the professors, who actually care about your individual success. It's not a party school unless you're in a frat or something, but it's a great school for those more prone to reading than playing football. Would recommend 8.8/10
