Students don't compare grades. They gather together to do homework, creating a social element to academic rigor. Kindness and honesty are pushed as core culture elements.

Haverford: top undergrad education.

An amazing school. The students are smart and the culture is both collaborative and fun. People study hard but also know how to enjoy themselves. When applying to colleges I got so caught up in going to an Ivy League or "big name" school but found that every employer from J.P. Morgan, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley look very highly on Haverford students. If you want to go to a "presidious" school save it for grad school. Haverford students have an extremely high rate of acceptance to Harvard, U of Penn, and Columbia for a Ph.D or MBA.

For those that seek above and beyond

I first heard of Haverford from a Jesuit priest while living in Africa with my family. Coming from a background where commitment to country and service towards the public good was paramount, I was intrigued. After visiting Haverford and getting an impromptu campus tour from an ecstatic English major who had just turned in his thesis (and would go on one day to be regularly featured on a major cable news network), I fell in love with the incredibly beautiful campus and the earnest, intensively bright, and engaging students, faculty, and staff. We literally ran upon the President of the college sitting under a tree eating an apple. He greeted us warmly and no sense of pretense "warned" of his standing in the community. I forged intense and enduring friendships that last to this day. I have experienced a career progression that has been both financially and personally very rewarding. No matter where I go around the world, I encounter Haverford alums...nearly always at a high station and bringing none of the bravado that might otherwise be afforded them. You will be tested at Haverford. You will find your limits. You will come away the very best version of yourself and you will build a community of likeminded individuals. Haverford - for the select few that relish challenge.

Money well spent!

Expensive but incredible in terms of opportunities for academic pursuits, socially respectful and safe environment and KINDNESS around every corner.. only complaint is food. But mediocre food is a small price to pay for excellence in every other aspect of a collegiate experience.

Wide open opportunity

Haverford's campus is the greenest, most beautiful of any college. Haverford can take you anywhere you want to go. Studying the Soviet System, I later worked in Russia . A classmate who studied English became a serious writer for a major publication. My roommate won admission to a top, top law school. Haverford offers a solid education.
