What is the weather like in the winter? Is it really cold?
Asked by Ny, Class of 2022 from Bronx, New York
My daughter is a sophomore, and from CA. No, not that cold. Only a couple big snows a year and it goes away quickly. In the winter, the coldest is around 25-30 deg F but the highs those days are in the 40's. It's south of NY and even that wasn't that bad (I lived there for 6 yrs). Freshman year, people told her that many people don't even wear snow boots. It's a great school; she loves it. Lots of opportunities off campus that is paid for by the school - hockey, rock climbing, hiking trips, etc. The only thing is it's very small, but most students take classes at Swarthmore and Bryn Mawr so it doesn't seem *that* small. And Philly is so close, 20 min train ride that students are always going to Philly to eat, for concerts, museums, etc etc. They have lots of money that is going into new construction for amazing buildings with top of the line high tech features and equipment. Teaching is phenomenal, low prof to student ratio. And the campus is one of the most beautiful in the country with a 3 mile trail that surrounds the campus
