Southern Illinois University--Carbondale User Reviews and Ratings
SIU is struggling
By G-Man, From Chicago Area
SIU has traditionally been a "party school" and always had a reputation of the lowest admission standards in the state. There have been some good program, but the degree does not carry the same weight as the University of Illinois campuses, Illinois State, or Northern Illinois. Enrollment is half of what it was and visiting the campus is depressing (closed buildings). There are better options.

Great School, enjoyed my time and learned a great deal
By ms95, From Chicago
I attended SIUC in the early 90's graduating from their Electrical Engineering Technology program. While there I took a variety of other classes in Computer Science. Ultimately 25 years later this odd blend of Engineering and Computers worked out well for me managing corporate Data Centers. This school might be overlooked by many but the opportunities here are excellent, and the campus is beautiful. If I had to do it all over again I would in heartbeat

Best years on my life.
By Jon P., Class of 2007, From New York City
Southern Illinois university Carbondale offered me so many opportunities. I ended up being a big fish in a small pond. I loved everything about my years in Carbondale. During 2001-2005 degree awarded in 2007

Good school & Lots of fun
By BMiller 2010, From Chicago, IL
SIUC is a good school. I graduated in 2010 and enjoyed my experience in Carbondale while obtaining my degree. I was in the business program and got my degree in Business Management. While in school, I started my own business and the college & university were very supportive of our endeavor which I will always be thankful for. Go Salukis!
