Requirements A bachelor's degree in Accounting from a regionally accredited, four year institution in the United States. Required Minimum Grade Point Averages calculated in accordance with Graduate Admissions procedures: 2.5 (4.0 scale) or above for all upper-division courses and 3.0 (4.0 scale) or above in all accounting courses. Official scores on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) of not less than 500 or an official score on the GRE General Test of not less than 295, verbal and quantitative combined. Only GMAT or GRE scores less than five years old will be considered. Applicants may EXEMPT the GMAT or GRE with evidence of an advanced degree, Master’s, Doctorate, in any field from a regionally accredited institution an accounting professional certification (e.g. CPA, CFE, CIA, CMA, CFP or similar designation) one year of professional accounting work experience as evidenced by submitted resume UNG and other AACSB institution accounting majors may also exempt the GMAT or GRE by earning an upper level accounting GPA of at least 3.75 and an overall GPA of 3.5, (4.0 scale) calculated in accordance with Graduate Admissions procedures, or higher. The Master of Accountancy program within the Mike Cottrell College of Business at UNG focuses on preparing students for a career in accounting and for completion of the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) license. Classes include 18 semester hours of core classes and 12 semester hours of electives. The program may be completed in one year for full-time students or over 2 years for part-time students. Classes may be made available both for day and evening courses.
