Lehigh University, founded in 1865, is a private university. Programs are offered through the College of Arts and Science, Business and Economics, and Engineering and Applied Physical Sciences. Academic flexibility, hands-on experience and a sense of community are the distinguishing characteristics of a Lehigh education. Lehigh prides itself in preparing students for rewarding and successful lives, with a wide range of degree programs in four colleges. Boundaries between each of the colleges are fluid to allow for maximum academic flexibility. Its 1,600-acre campus is located in Bethlehem, 60 miles from Philadelphia.
