The University of North Texas, founded in 1890, is a public, comprehensive institution. It provides students the opportunity to live next to one of the fastest-growing and most dynamic metropolitan areas in the U.S., Dallas/Fort Worth, while maintaining a midsized community environment. Programs are offered through the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Education, and Music; the Schools of Community Service, Library and Information Sciences, Merchandising and Hospitality Management, and Visual Arts. As a doctoral-granting institution, UNT provides opportunities for undergraduates to work closely with nationally and internationally recognized faculty, participate in research projects and study in advanced labs, music halls and classrooms.
