BU does a great job of showcasing itself as a school of many opportunities and rich faculty engagement during the recruitment process. But the reality is that most of the professors that I and my friends had were the terrible combination of being poor at teaching and extremely hard. Personalized resources for students were shallow and cookie cutter. I would say that the best result I got from my experience was the ability to work very hard but the worst result was that it often didn't result in success. Over the summer I took a science course at another university and easily achieved an A+. At BU I know I would have had to work intensively just to get a a B.

Great University
By Class of 2019, From Morgantown, WV
I had the privilege of attending one of the best ranked schools. The faculty and leadership at the university epitomizes true professionalism and academic achievement and intellect. Proud to be a BU terrier.

The school is what you make of but there is no lack of opportunity. If I went back in time I would still go to BU.

Good School with a Determined Student Body
By Class of 2019 Grad, From Boston
Recently graduated from BU this past May. Overall I can say that the professors at BU work really hard to push and inspire the students. Professors are always willing to help and broaden the horizon of students. Students are motived and driven. Great City with a great atmosphere to expand, close proximity to the Boston Symphony, Museum of Fine Arts, and Boston Common.

Best choice I could've made
By Lucy T, Class of 2022, From Newton, Massachusetts
I had my heart set on UCLA but after looking at BU, I decided to apply ED. I am so glad that I did. The countless amazing programs in the best city of all time has created for an amazing freshman year of college. I am already antsy to return back to campus.

Happy that I chose to BU
By BU Alumni, From Brighton MA
Overall I had a great experience at BU during my Undergraduate years. Being near Newberry had its perks and drawbacks. Boston University is a very large school and its easy to get lost within the student body. It took me time to find my group but once I did I was happy that I attended BU. Academically speaking BU is known for having moderate grade deflation, in most classes it is very difficult to receive an A grade. This was a positive for me as it enticed me to push myself and work harder. The faculty, comprised of some of the most caring people that I have met to date. All of my professors where more than willing to meet with me on a one to one basis. Overall I had a great experience and would recommend BU.

Not a good investment for what you pay for
By Howie, From Los Angeles, CA
i pains me to write this. everyone wants to see the school they went to go up on the ranking. but honestly this was a bad investment. I can only speak for the SFA (School of Fine Art), and SMG (School of Management), since i majored in SFA, and took lots of classes at SMG while i was there. SFA's program while i was there was extremely lagging behind industry standard and trend. They cramped so much useless what they call foundation courses into your first two years that you easily blow a hundred grand your first two years for something that you cannot use after you graduate. The real courses that had to do with my major didn't come in until middle of 3rd year, and even then, it was credible lacking behind the industry trend and standard. I learned this the hard way after i got out. And worst of all, they painted a picture of job security with hefty starting salary when you get out. The real-world was much different. ALL of us struggled to find jobs after graduation, and the jobs fell way short of the hefty salary they told you. Overall, the SFA programs in general was what i would summarize as Out of Touch to the real world, with the exception that if your ultimate career choice is going to be a traditional painter or sculptor. anything else, forget it. SMG has a lot of useful accounting and finance courses that i got some use out of after i finished my Major. but overall what they teach you in those courses could be learned in less than half the time they stretched it out. After graduation, i ended up learning more from an after school night program from a reputable school in one quarter than i did in all four years of BA from here. i won't name the school here, so i don't get flamed for being a paid review. Fast forward 15 years to where i am now, with a stable great career, i can honestly say skip THIS. there're better ways to blow your money. you can learn way more from some of the night school programs for less than 10% of the tuition here.

A bad Investment
By K2021, From Boston, MA
Questrom School of Business, MBA program. Bottom line, I wouldn't recommend it at all neither it's worth the 100K price tag. First day at school, Orientation, I was amazed. A lot of promises and great students experience. Career service was promised to be most helpful and supportive, example of professors went outside their norm to take care of their students, etc. Many promises were made a lot of great things were said on that day. OMG it was just a dream came true! So, why I'm complaining!! First, Career service is the worse. People actually don't care or know how to help. They completely under skilled. The funny part is that they will tell you things that you can really google on your own. Many students complain about it as well and how useless they are! Second, many instructors "MKT, HM, Finance, etc" Really don't care. It's a job for them. There is no passion. Very few professors really care, most of them simply don't care whether you truly understand or not! They try to be funny just for the end of the semester review so they can get a higher grade ! Bottom line, for that much money, you're better of going to a real school where professors really care about students and their well being. Where a career service is really capable not crippled

By Bill B., Class of 2016, From New York
I agree with John of 2019. The classes are pretty d*** heavy on a lot of majors too. Definitely manageable, but you're gonna work for it. You'll definitely find a group of people you like and you'll do whatever you want. Study abroad if you can; Its a significantly easier and cheaper semester. You'll have a ton of time to travel.

Meh School
By John class of 2019, From Boston, Ma
The school does not care at all about the students. The students are nice and theres a lot of people so there's a group for everyone but I feel like ive been fighting against the university for 4 years. Between constantly changing graduation requirements and not offering quality advisors its hard to decide what classes to take. The university is not sympathetic to difficult scenarios which they create. If you need something and they can say no they will. Also the other reviews are clearly fake.

Always some new class to try, taught by a well respected professor, or research opportunity to get involved with, innovative internships through the university's/alumni connections, and innovative ideas floating around to get involved with.
