I'm a DSU Parent
By Pashy 2021, From New York
Delaware State University Financial Aid office is horrible. They never answer the phone and when they do someone always say they will call you back. They wait until the last minute with getting the students paperwork together unless you are a Athlete, on the Band or have a scholarship. Other wise you are not important! When they get to your paperwork is when they get to it. And hope to God that you don't have any error on the paperwork or mix up then you will never know until move in day and hope that everything goes well when you arrive. If you don't have your stuff together then, you are kicked out, but it's ok that they take there time with processing the students financial aid and clearing the loans. I know this first hand for two years. The only reason I didn't take my child out the college is because she loves the school but they don't show that they are interested in the students. Just don't waste your time calling. The housing situation is horrible as well. accepting too many student and don't have housing for all of them. and the Athletes get first pick of housing and that's not fair but that's how Delaware State do! I will be glad when this journey is over!! Your truly Disappointed Parent

Delaware State College/University
By Albert Class of 1974, From Chesapeake, VA
I attended Delaware State University after being accepted at two TWI in the 1970s. I later attended a TWI for Graduate School and that I was better prepared for Graduate Studies then most of my classmates that did attend the TWIs. I had the GREATEST college experience and have several life time Friends. I am still active with the Alumni Association and I Love my University. My children, brother and sister, grand children, and several nieces and nephews have attended and are Graduated of this Great Institution.

Great School is what you make of it
By Lol i'm almost outta here, From NYC
Just like any HBCU, DSU is what you make of it. Don't let no one tell you other wise. My freshman year as been great only a few changes that should be made. The energy is there people is just boring. You MUST be on top of your financial aid and housing is VERY limited but they are making a new building which is great they are finally trying to fix an ongoing issue.

Awesome School!
By Proud to be a Hornet!, From Cleveland, Ohio
Attending Delaware State University was a great experience! I played sports, learned a lot, had fun, made life long friends, became a committed Christian, and this school helped shape me into the person/leader I am today. Also, DSU is 2.5 hours (or less) from five major cities (NYC, Newark, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and DC), so you're close enough to everything to always have something to do, but you're far enough way to stay out of trouble if you choose. GO HORNETS!!!

It's an HBCU
By Class of 2019, From Dover, Delaware
May 2019 Graduate. DSU is really what you make it, similar to any other HBCU. If you stay on top of your game, and financial aid, you will fine. The atmosphere is good among the student body.
