engaging and good
By MAV, From south. new jersey
S attending Colby. Waterville has changed and improved dramatically these past 3 years as a result of a new collaborative and mutually beneficial relationship with Colby under the guidance of Pres. David Greene and his exciting purposeful vision. There is the new Main Street Alfond Center which serves as apt/ housing for upperclassmen as well as a business center with ground level retail and municipal admin offices. Coming as approved is a new ARTS center and Waterville hotel. The overall decent and accommodating Colby student body mix that is evolving as diverse...does allow for our kids to find their own comfortable spot..

Superb -- but not for everyone
By Friend of the College, From Waterville, Maine
A center for excellence in a small town in central Maine provides the ideal setting for would-be scholars who can also appreciate what can be learned from the nearby mountains, lakes, and seacoast.

Professors want you to. Succeed
By Mule19, From New York
Doors are open and learning doesn't end when class is over. Professors are accessible not TAs but the professors. They want you to succeed and work to make the subjects creative, engaging and a dialogue. There is a sense of challenging one to be better and to stretch out of the simple and safe. Although, described as a safe bubble on the hill, What it does is create is an environment whereby one feels greater confidence to explore and discover .

Stellar education, supportive community, gorgeous setting
By Roger D, parent class of 2022, From Scarborough, ME
I'm a parent of a rising sophomore who had an extremely positive first year at Colby. I've been really impressed by Colby's commitment to excellence in everything they do. The faculty and staff my son has interacted with so far have all been professional, supportive and highly accessible, more so than one would likely find at a larger university. The campus itself is stunning with Portland, the coast and ski slopes all just an hour away. The college is deep into a record-setting fundraising campaign that is allowing it to offer generous resources to its students including financial aid, paid experiences abroad and a best-in-class athletic center due to open in 2020. There's a dynamism at Colby that's palpable. It may or may not be the best fit for your son or daughter, but I can say without hesitation that it's been a great fit for mine.

Honestly everything feels so surreal being on this campus. Ever since I've stepped onto Colby, I've received everything I wanted and more. A truly incredible place.

Great opportunity to find your lodestar
By K1VR '67, and former Assistant Professor, From Metrowest Boston
With four Jan Plans, study overseas, 100 clubs, and athletics for all (over 1/3 of the student body plays an intercollegiate sport in the NESCAC), Colby opens up areas to explore with little risk.

I'm obsessed with Colby
By Merrill, Class of 2019, From Milwaukee, WI
Colby is academically challenging and students work hard, but more importantly the students are kind, passionate, and motivated. You feel it immediately when you step on campus that people are curious to learn from one another and want to share their passions and experiences. Athletics has been a a major part of my colby experience and my teammates, coaches, and other athletes have left a life long impression on me both on and off the field. Athletics makes up a lot of the social life on campus, but their parties open up to include people both within athletics and not. It's an inclusive atmosphere and everyone overlaps through class, clubs, athletics, or dorm living. Colby is my home and I've felt that way for my four years and know that feeling will never dissipate.
